reminds of that one anime, Vandread, where the men and women live in seperate worlds the men reproduce through cloning and the women repruduce through inserting one females dna and into another female's egg and let nature carry its course....

this idea is interesting

there was a time where matriarchal societies were a commonplace and poeple worshipped women because they could produce life.

Since then science and religion has come along and screwed over that idea... now in american society women thing they are living in equality when women make 70cents for ever 1 dollar the man earns... though this is a sort of bias statements because many of those women have chosen to leave their careers for the most difficult of all careers.... a housewife.... because no matter how tired the guy thinks he is after a long hard day of work... you know it aint as bad as doing housework...

getting back to the idea of women only world you'd have to think where would the guys go? ... and it wouldn't be as fun.... though myspace would be the centerpeice of society if that did happen ;p

to prevent being flamed and called a sexist ill leave my statement at this
psychologically and physically men and women are different and for this reason history has gone the way it has...

the show "Sliders" had an episode about this subject. They went to a dimension where a virus during a war had killed off most of the male population. The remaining men were held by their countries as each nation tried to 'rebuild' their male population as quickly as possible. But this time the women were in charge.

It's called "Love Gods" and is on the Season Two DVD

I am not sure I would agree with this statement. Could you tell me how you arrived at this conclusion? I am curious.

If the current trends of almost constant war continue that won't be too crazy to not worry about. There are a few reasons I can think of for this.
a.) It's mostly men being killed in wars(there are female soldiers, who are a minority, and civilian deaths are probably a near even split)
b.) The life excpectancy for male births is almost 5% lower than female and the gap is widening.
c.) The number of men dieing naturally is greater than the number of women and rising at a faster pace.
d.) The male to female birth ratio in most contries is skewed in favor of females.

If it got bad enough either nature would reverse the birth ratio, other contries would wind up developing a birth bias similar to China, a world would develop where the few men left alive(in comparison to the female population) will be used exclusivly as breeding stock for the matriarchal nations, or women using artificial insemenation or cloning would be the only people left.

I'm doing an Environmental biology degree at the moment, and last semester I found that in several species (probably all insect), due to evolutionary processes, the Y chromasome has become extinct and THERE ARE NO MALES!!!! Consequently the females can reproduce asexually.

I can't remember the actual species in question. But female stick-insects can lay fertile eggs, male stick insects do exist, but they're totally redundant.

A woman does have a higher pain threshold, but a woman can never be as physically strong as a man. Yes there are female body builders that are stronger than most men. However you take two average people one a male and one a female. No matter how hard the female traines she will never be as strong as a man doing the same workout. The chemical make up the of the male and female bodies force this outcome. This is why women can not compete at the male level in most physical sports. Note: before puberty men and women are an equal match physically.

Women do not have higher "mental" strengths. They are better at multitasking but there isn't any good evidence that suggests women are smarter then men or vise versa.

Um.... an all woman planet is entirely possible... Keep this all quiet now but scientists have, (and this is the simple version of it,) made a way to turn part of a female egg into a "tadpole"... so theres no need for men anymore... :'(

Problem with this is the fact that women have always been the child bearer,any suggestion to the general populace that a male could in fact produce a child through thier tissue would be met with mainly confusion and rejection.
